More infoLet’s embark on a journey to Corsica with Cyclone, a delightful blend of 50% Vermentino and 50% Muscat Blanc Petits Grains. The vines flourish in soils composed of clay and limestone, with occasional traces of schist that add complexity. Crafted by Thomas Santamaria, the sixth-generation winemaker, this cuvée is rooted in the exceptional terroir of Patrimonio, stretching over 13 hectares. The vineyard lies in the northern part of Corsica, west of Furiani some 20 kilometres southwest of Bastia. The parcels of Vermentino and Muscat Blanc Petits Grains are located a stone’s throw from the Padula Lake. This proximity imbues the wine with remarkable freshness and minerality. Thomas advocates certified organic practices (ECOCERT) and is gradually incorporating biodynamic methods into his viticulture. Grapes are hand-harvested to ensure the utmost care and quality.
In the cellar, this cuvée Cyclone is vinified and aged entirely in stainless steel vats. The fermentation process is triggered by native yeasts. The wine is then matured for approximately one year.
