Clos Thierriere is run by brothers Guillaume and Baptiste Frey, who produce a dry, aromatic Chenin from three different plots.

More info

Clos Thierriere Les Pleurs is a 100% Chenin cuvée. The vines are planted on the eastern slopes of the commune of Vernou-sur-Brenne, between Tours and Amboise. The village stretches for endless kilometres from north to south, on the opposite bank to Montlouis-sur-Loire. This single-vineyard Chenin is a blend of several of the estate’s parcels, including Tuffeau, Argile rouge and Argile à silex. The vines average more than 30 years in age. Baptiste and Guillaume, the Frey brothers, manage their vines with great respect for the environment and don’t use chemical inputs. The estate is currently converting to organic farming.
After manual harvests in ten-kilo crates and meticulous sorting directly in the vineyard, the liquid is matured in stainless steel vats for six months.
The result is a dry, aromatic Chenin. Floral and mineral aromas rise from the glass. The wine offers a rich, complex and balanced palate.
