A pure, elegant Vouvray from a distinctive parcel, revealing ripe fruit and remarkable floral finesse.
More infoThe Vouvray appellation is home to the Les Murs parcel, which is planted on the south-facing slopes of Vernou-sur-Brenne. The vines are rooted in very fine clay-limestone soils sitting directly over tuffeau, streaked with veins of silica and flint. Grapes are hand-harvested in ten-kilogram crates, sorted first in the vineyard and again in the winery, with only fully ripe berries retained. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts in stainless steel vats, without enriching. The wine is then aged on fine lees in oak barriques of one to five wines for 12 months, without fining or filtration.
In the glass, the wine displays a brilliant, clear yellow hue. The nose opens with generous aromas of white-fleshed fruit, candied citrus and white flowers, complemented by a gentle salinity and precise mineral finesse. The palate opens with a lively attack and unfolds into an airy texture, leading gracefully to a fruit-driven, citrus-tinged finish.
