It is delicate and fine on the palate, veering towards bark notes, and reveals subtle, fresh tannins. An extremely elegant wine. Excellent.
About the Producer Nervi Conterno
Nervi is the oldest working domaine in Gattinara, a village in the northern Piedmont. The volcanic soil gives the Nebbiolo grapes (known locally as “spanna”) an outstanding subtlety. The aromas of the wine reap the benefit of the temperate climate in these beautiful hills which are sheltered from the north winds by the Monte Rose massif and protected from the summer heat by their good height above sea level. While it is not among the big-hitters Nervi, probably produces some of the finest wines in Italy from its 24 hectares of vines.
