An authentic, gourmet red wine, that perfectly reflects all the flavours of the Spanish terroir.
More infoBecause of their location, Antigua's small parcels are exclusively cultivated by hand. This meticulous approach allows the wine to showcase the purest expression of its terroir. This elegant red wine is a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Graciano and 10% Grenache. One of Spain's great red grape varieties, Tempranillo is renowned for producing powerful wines. Its thick skin allows it to thrive in the warm regions of Rioja. Graciano, another of Spain's black grape varieties, is grown in small quantities because of its extreme sensitivity to climatic conditions. Lastly, Grenache charms as much by the roundness of its character as by its gourmet aromas. In the winery, following 24 months' ageing in stainless steel vats, the wine is kept in oak barrels for a further 24 months before bottling.
The bright ruby colour unveils a nose dominated by powerful red fruit aromas combined with hints of spice. On the palate, fruity aromas mingle with nuances of vanilla.

About the Producer Alberto Orte
Alberto Orte is a force to be reckoned with: this vigneron crafts fascinating and ambitious wines that have established him as one of the most talented of Spain’s next-generation producers. Beyond co-founding Olé & Obrigado, Orte has also spent much of his life discovering historic terroirs, resurrecting forgotten vines, and replanting grape varieties of the past that might otherwise have been lost to us. He also uses organic methods whilst following the principles of biodynamic growing. In the cellar, vinification borrows its rhythm from the terroirs and grapes themselves, as well as the climate of each parcel. They are all taken into account when adapting fermentation containers and ageing times.
Orte produces two kinds of wine: the first come from single terroirs, and these carry the Alberto Orte label, and the others, more accessible, come from village-named vineyards and are bottled under the Vinos Atlántico label. This range includes Valdeorras reds and Jerez amber wine, a variety of cuvées reflecting a variety of terroirs. A reference producer for getting to know the richness offered by Spanish wine.
