Lot presentation

Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles vignes Humbert (Domaine) 2011

The wine

This Gevrey-Chambertin is powerful and complex. The nose offers spicy red berry aromas. The tannins suggest a good potential for aging.

About the Producer Humbert

Frédéric Humbert and his brother Emmanuel have been at the head of the family domaine since 1989. The family has many wine growers and their cousins are none other than the Dugats. The 7 hectare domaine is based on ideally located plots in the village of Gevrey, including: villages, premier crus and a plot of Charmes-Chambertin. The Humbert brothers bet that they could make the wines a little more full-bodied than their neighbours. The wines thus have a slightly darker colour and are very intense on the palate. Red wine takes sixteen to eighteen months to mature and the wines have great aging potential. The range has continued to gain in definition in recent years. All the cuvées are thus of excellent quality.
