Meursault Château de Pommard 2010

The wine

The vineyard allows nature to take control and freely express all the facets of the terroir. Biodynamic principles apply in each parcel, and the use of chemicals is strictly banned. The estate favours natural composting methods and horse-drawn tillage, combined with a precise study of the lunar calendar. In the vineyard, grapes are exclusively hand-picked before undergoing a vinification process that involves as little human intervention as possible.
The elegant golden colour is complemented by a delicate bouquet of floral aromas combined with hints of citrus, tropical fruit and vanilla. On the palate, the clean, harmonious attack reveals indulgent aromas of butter, brioche and honey, within a creamy texture. The fresh and mineral finish promises delicious tastings and several fine years of cellaring.

About the Producer Château de Pommard

The Château de Pommard is today the largest private vineyard in Côte de Beaune. In just one piece, these 20 hectares of vines, surrounded by a two-metre high stone wall, are truly unique. The château Micault was built in 1726 by Louis XVI's secretary. In 1795 a second château, Marey Monge, was constructed a little further away. This is, hence, the biggest property in the Côte, and also where Napoleon, a friend of the Marey Monge family, used to visit regularly. In 1936 the two properties were bought together by Jean-Louis Laplanche. In 2003 Maurice Giraud became the owner of the Château de Pommard.
