Intensity

A light, vibrant wine with bright aromas. It is reminiscent of the Trousseau variety from the Jura but stands out with notes of sea water to finish.

More info

This red wine was made from ancient Listán Prieto and Tintilla vines between 70 and 120 years old and perched at 1000 metres high on volcanic soil in Santiago del Teide in Tenerife. The grapes are macerated and fermented with the stems and are only partially destemmed. After fermentation the wine is matured in equal parts in cement tanks and old 600-litre barrels. This particular type of vinification produces wine that is both robust and light, with intense aromas.
The vibrant nose boasts slightly smoky notes with a hint of cherry after aeration. The palate is pleasantly fresh with delicate tannins. It’s vivacity is enhanced with notes of spice, smoke and red berries, reminiscent of the Trousseau variety from the Jura, but with a hint of saltiness to finish. Only a minimal amount of sulphur is added before the bottling process to preserve quality.
