About the Producer Bell Hill Vineyard
★ Partner ProducerBell Hill Vineyard was founded in 1997 by Marcel Giesen and Sherwyn Veldhuizen, in the Weka Pass region, north of Canterbury. The vineyard, located on a former limestone quarry, extends over 3.2 hectares and follows a Burgundian-inspired model, with high-density planting and vines trained close to the ground. This limestone terroir gives their Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs a mineral structure, precise acidity and tannins suitable for ageing. Bell Hill Vineyard follows organic and biodynamic viticulture, with BioGro organic certification. In the cellar, vinificationis intended to promote the expression of terroir: cultivated yeasts, added tannins, enzymes, glues and others oenological meddling has been discarded. The wines are sought after for their purity, tension and depth, in a delicate, precise and highly gastronomic style. The confidential production and international reputation of the vineyard make it one of the most unique addresses in New Zealand.
