Intensity
A typical Pommard premier cru, seductive, concentrated and powerful.
More infoThe Pommard appellation started establishing its renowned reputation in the Middle Ages, thanks to the efforts of the Dukes of Burgundy and the monks from the Cîteaux Abbey. This vineyard, a proud symbol of the Côte de Beaune, is planted with Pinot Noir at an altitude of around 250 metres. Clay-limestone soils and stony scree soils ensure good drainage for each plot. In the winery, the carefully harvested fruit is meticulously sorted before undergoing a traditional, low-intervention vinification process.
The elegant purple colour reveals an expressive nose releasing scents of black cherry, raspberry and blackberry. The robust, deep palate is complemented by fresh fine-grained tannins gently leading to a long, flavoursome finish. This wine can be enjoyed young, and will reveal delicious aromas after several years of cellaring.
