The wine

This Pernand-Vergelesses is produced from Chardonnay vines planted in chalky marl soil. It displays an infectious energy and remarkable tension characteristic of its terroir. Produced using natural methods and no chemical additives, this wine is characterised by its straightforward vinification process, including a proportion of whole grapes, and a sulphur-free ageing process.
Let’s proceed with the tasting. This bright gold-coloured cuvée seduces with its bewitching aromas of white flowers, fresh citrus fruit and subtle hints of vanilla. On the palate, delicate flavours of pear, white peach and toasted almonds mingle with crisp acidity, producing a perfect harmony. Domaine Petit Roy, in Chorey-les-Beaune, was established by Seiichi Wang in 2017, thanks to his hard work and his commitment to creating exceptional wines in Burgundy. Having honed his skills with some of the greatest winemakers, including Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, Armand Rousseau and Anne Claude Leflaive, Seiichi Wang meticulously cultivates his more than two hectares of vines. To produce wines that are pure, perfectly balanced and bursting with aromas, he rigorously adheres to the principles of biodynamic viticulture in his winery and vineyard, using the most natural products possible. Each parcel of vines benefits from balanced, sustainable viticulture, with each plant receiving the necessary attention to preserve its individuality. The Chinese-born winemaker’s highly acclaimed wines brilliantly reflect his exacting standards and natural approach.
