The wine
Renowned as Piedmont's best-known red grape variety, Nebbiolo is also one of Italy's oldest. The vines, growing on limestone soils, thrive thanks to balanced sunlight allowing the fruit to absorb sun and flavour. In the cellar, as in the vineyards, the grapes are cared for meticulously, respecting the soils and biodiversity. The grapes go through spontaneous thermoregulated fermentation in stainless steel vats for 15 to 20 days, using the indigenous yeasts naturally present in the fruit. After racking, the wine ages carefully in oak barrels for around two years before being bottled.
The ruby-red colour enhanced by garnet-red and bright glints unveils an intense bouquet. The expressive nose is characterised by delicious aromas of spices with notes of red fruits. The rich and flavourful palate is balanced perfectly by the silky tannins leading to a deliciously long finish.
About the Producer Francesco Rinaldi
Giovanni Rinaldi acquired a vineyard in the Barolo region circa 1870 and then handed it down to his children and grandchildren. Today, his great-granddaughters, Paola and Piera Rinaldi, manage the domaine.
