Saint-Joseph Raymond Trollat 1999
The wine
Although the domain no longer exists now, we remember that its producer recommended keeping these wines for at least five years before drinking. Now ultra-rare, his Saint-Joseph had an attractive ruby-red appearance and a bouquet of red and black berries, sweet spices, violet, pepper and – over time – noble leather. Its silky texture becomes more polished over time, enabling some wonderful food pairings.
About the Producer Raymond Trollat
Formerly located in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols, domaine Raymond Trollat used to incarnate the excellence of the Saint-Joseph appellation. But the years 2000 were the final curtain of this fine business. The very old Syrah wines were bequeathed to other wine growers, mainly Pierre Gonon (domaine Gonon) who, today, inspires others.
