More info

Les Granges de Verhaut is a red wine made from Pinot Noir, cultivated on one hectare in Sainte-Marie-la-Blanche, near Beaune. The vines are meticulously planted at a density of 5,000 per hectare, employing a high training system of 1.90 metres to maximise sunlight exposure for the grapes. The soil is primarily composed of limestone and scree, providing excellent drainage and contributing to the grape variety’s minerality. The vinification follows traditional methods with a strict respect for the terroir, while the maturation occurs in oak casks, imparting subtle notes and lovely complexity to the juice.
On the nose, this nectar presents a bright garnet hue and reveals intense aromas of red fruits, such as blackcurrant and blackberry, complemented by floral hints of peony. On the palate, it stands out for its finesse, freshness, and a delightful mineral tension, offering immediate enjoyment along with the potential for several years of ageing.

About the Producer Dubuet Boillot

Born among the vines of Volnay, his path initially led him to a career as a race car mechanic before steering back to his true calling. Well versed in motorsports, he also masters viticulture, earning a BTS in viticulture and oenology in Beaune. In 2016, he took over the six hectares of vines belonging to his maternal grandfather, Pierre Boillot. The estate spans prestigious appellations such as Volnay and Pommard, including the premier crus Les Pitures and En Largillière, as well as Coteaux Bourguignons and IGP Sainte-Marie-la-Blanche. Today, Maxime Dubuet-Boillot perpetuates his family’s winemaking legacy, crafting refined and elegant wines through meticulous vineyard work and minimal intervention in the cellar. Though not officially certified in biodynamics, his practices closely align with its principles.
