All the elegance and intensity of Riesling in a single flavoursome and irresistible cuvée.

More info

This flavourful 100% Riesling comes from the iconic Rosenberg lieu-dit, meaning “the mountain of roses”. The Barmes-Buecher estate carefully tends this plot located in Wettolsheim, planted on clay and limestone soils. With an east to northeast exposure, the vines enjoy a slow, delicate ripening process and are cultivated according to biodynamic principles. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are gently pressed to preserve the fruit’s quality and aromatic purity. Fermentation is triggered naturally using native yeasts. The wine is then aged on its lees for about 11 months in stainless steel vats and foudres (large wooden tuns).
The golden hue reveals an expressive nose, bursting with intense citrus aromas. On the palate, a fine acidity leads gracefully to a fresh, mineral finish, promising excellent ageing potential for many years to come.

About the Producer Barmes-Buecher

Located in Wettolsheim, just a stone’s throw away from Colmar, the domain was formed in 1985 when François Barmès and Geneviève Buecher got married and united their family plots. Now run by Geneviève and her children, Sophie and Maxime, the domain produces wines from an array of local varieties. The vines grow on terroirs whose individual personalities come through into the wine.
