This Storm Vrede Chardonnay is a true gem of South Africa with aromas of citrus, almonds and exotic fruits. It offers a freshness and elegance reminiscent of the great Puligny-Montrachet wines.
More infoMade from bio-dynamically cultivated vines, this Chardonnay is produced from vines grown on granite soil, enriched with deposits of sand and clay, offering excellent drainage and elegant minerality. Harvests are carried out by hand, ensuring rigorous selection of the grapes. Vinification is meticulous and respects the natural character of the grapes. The grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel vats - one third is matured in stainless steel vats to preserve the aromatic character of the grape variety, while the remaining two thirds are matured in oak barrels. This ageing period of six to nine months gives the wine a wonderful aromatic complexity and silky texture.
On tasting, this white Beaujolais stands out aromas of citrus fruits and flowers, with notes of lemon, peach, pear, acacia, lime blossom and honeysuckle. The palate offers remarkable freshness and a fine minerality, making it the perfect pairing for seafood, poultry or white meat dishes.

About the Producer Jean-Claude Lapalu
From a family of wine makers, Jean-Claude Lapalu settled at the family domain in Beaujolais in 1982. After a few years of sending his grapes to the cooperative, he started making his own wines in 1996. He gradually found his own path and discovered his own style, developing natural vinifications with little intervention. The work in the vineyard has become much more eco-friendly and more respectful of the terroir. The 12-hectare vineyard is certified organic, the soil is ploughed, and the rows are covered with grass. Jean-Claude Lapalu has a superb viticultural heritage, including many mature vines, some of which are over 100 years old. A top Beaujolais domain!
