Morey Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Blanchards Arlaud 2018

The wine

Morey Les Blanchards is produced on a small parcel of 27 ares from vines that are more than 50 years old. It is élevaged in oak for 14 to 18 months (25% new). This is a high-class and very well-balanced premier cru with aromas of blackcurrant and plum and a silky texture. It pairs well with red meat and game.

About the Producer Arlaud

The origins of Domaine Arlaud date back to World War II when Joseph Arlaud, from the Ard?che, met and married a lady from Bourgogne, Renée Amiot, whose family owned a vineyard. The couple developed and expanded the domaine. In 1982, their son, Hervé Arlaud took over and enlarged the domaine further, while developing bottle sales. Today, the third generation (Bertille, Cyprien and Romain) manage the operation and do very high quality work. The 15 hectare vineyard is certified organic and biodynamic and includes the very fine terroirs of Bonnes-Mares, Charmes-Chambertin and also Clos de la Roche. The vines and soil are well worked (ploughed by horses) and the élevage is increasingly controlled, producing magnificent, very pure wine with remarkable finesse.
