More info

Nestled on the heights above Meursault, these Chardonnay vines enjoy a cooler microclimate, ideal for producing whites of remarkable tension and finesse. Bordering the forest, Clos des Tillets takes its name from the lime trees that once lined the site. It is widely regarded as one of the finest climats within the Bourgogne appellation. The vineyard is tended according to certified organic principles, with the utmost respect for the natural balance of the ecosystem. Harvested by hand, the grapes are pressed as whole bunches before fermenting with native yeasts. The wine is then matured for 12 months in seasoned oak casks, with only minimal use of new oak, preserving the purity of both the fruit and the terroir.
In the glass, the pale yellow hue is lifted by silvery glints. The vibrant nose reveals aromas of white flowers, preserved lemon, fresh almond and flint. The first sip is lively, before the wine unfolds a chiselled, crystalline texture, leading to a long, mouth-watering finish.

A small 12 hectare family domaine, Domaine Labet was created in 1974 by Alain and Josie Labet. François Labet is now in charge. He owns the Château de la Tour in Clos-Vougeot which was built in 1890 by his ancestors. With 6 hectares on the plot of Clos-Vougeot, the Labet family is the largest owner of this prestigious land. The domaine has been certified for organic farming since 1992. The production shows fine consistency in quality and character.
