Bourgogne La Combe Marc Colin & Fils 2014

The wine

In the clayey soils of Puligny-Montrachet, the Colin family produces its Chardonnay – the king of Burgundy grapes – according to sustainable principles. In the winery, élevage is carried out in oak barrels for 10 months, resulting in a clear wine with soft golden hints. Its rounded velvetiness in the mouth, enhanced by a nose of white flowers, citrus fruits and almonds, gives a fresh, balanced wine. It is regularly acclaimed by the Revue du Vin de France, which recommends decanting it into a carafe.

About the Producer Marc Colin

Of the many Colins in Burgundy, Domaine Marc Colin is perhaps the most famous. This Saint-Aubin estate asserted its reputation thanks to its high-flying whites. The winery has an impressive collection of terroirs in Chassagne, Puligny and several works of the mythical Montrachet. It is now his children, Caroline and Damien, who are at the head of the estate but they remain loyal to the property's identity. The quest for precision and accuracy is impressive, whether in the vineyard, during vinification or in the élevage. The red wines are also of a very high quality. A location which is not-to-be-missed in the Côte de Beaune.
