More infoThe Henry Pellé estate is a benchmark in the eastern Loire winegrowing region and the Menetou-Salon appellation. Paul-Henry Pellé and his wife Marie run the estate and offer us this white cuvée, Les Bornés, made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes around 25 years old. On the estate, there are 7,500 vine plants per hectare covering a total surface of 15 hectares. The vines are nurtured following biodynamic principles, encouraging them to draw the nutrients they require to thrive from a terroir steeped in Kimmeridgian marl. Once hand-picked, the grapes are rigorously sorted and undergo direct pressing as soon as they arrive in the winery. The musts are settled before fermenting naturally in stainless steel vats, thanks to native yeasts. The wine is aged in the same type of vessels, on the lees, to retain all the freshness and delicacy of the grapes. About the Producer Henry Pellé
In the very east of the Loire, nestled between meadows and hills, domain Pellé makes wines in the Menetou-Salon appellation. Created in 1959, it lies on terroirs of marl, clay and Kimmeridgian limestone. The domain farms its vines sustainably, tilling the soils and keeping its yields low. Exemplary wines with impressive minerality.
