Côte-Rôtie Lancement Garon 2019

The wine

Located in the picturesque Rhône Valley, the Garon family estate is currently run by Jean-François, his wife Carmen, and their sons Kevin and Fabien. Here, they present the Lancement cuvée (which translates to launch), made exclusively from Syrah. The vines has been carefully cultivated following environmentally friendly principles, culminating in hand harvesting. This approach ensures the integrity of the fruit and the unique character of the terroir are preserved. In the winery, this philosophy translates to low-intervention winemaking, with sulphur used sparingly for its antiseptic and antioxidant properties. The tasting reveals a wine built to age, with an intense, dense ruby-red colour highlighted by violet tints. The nose exudes aromas of red and black fruits along with sweet spices, which evolve over time into notes of leather, fur, and forest floor. The tannins will mellow over time, making it a perfect match for hearty meats.
