Mendoza Atamisque (Domaine) Malbec 2009
The wine
An excellent Malbec. The nose develops aromas of blackberry jam and spices. On the palate, it is dense and concentrated, yet the tannins are well-integrated. A superb introduction to the wines from domain Atamisque.
About the Producer Atamisque
Atamisque is a 70-hectare domain situated in the famous region of Mendoza in Argentina. Property of John du Monceau, the domain lies at 1300m of altitude, in one of the finest winegrowing areas of Argentina. The vines are more than 80 years old, producing refined, concentrated wines. The temperature difference between night and day allows the Malbec to perfectly ripen, preserving the acidity of the grapes, essential for the conservation and balance of the wines. The cellar was conceived to work by gravity in order to avoid pumping. The barrels used are French. The wines are stunning in their precision; among the finest Argentinian wines around.
