Bourgogne Chardonnay Château de Béru 2023

0.75L
Intensity
A mineral, citrus-driven Chablis Chardonnay, carried by freshness and a distinctly stony finish.
More infoLe Clos de Béru, the estate’s historic monopole, encircles the château itself. Its ancient walls date back centuries and form one of the estate’s iconic enclosed Clos. The slope’s elevation, between 300 and 350 metres, enhances freshness and encourages the slow ripening of Chardonnay. In the vineyard, harvesting is entirely manual, carried out in small crates. In the winery, the fruit undergoes gentle, slow pressing. Fermentation then takes place in vats with native yeasts. The wine is then aged for sixteen months before bottling without fining or filtration.
In the glass, the pale yellow hue introduces a bouquet of candied lemon, green apple, white flowers, flintstone and fresh herbs. On the palate, a fresh, saline attack reveals a fine balance of tension and minerality, leading into a subtle iodine-tinged, persistent finish.
