A Pinot Noir from old vines, combining generous fruit, a fleshy, moreish palate, fine tannins and a lingering finish.
More infoVieilles Vignes is crafted from a blend of east-facing parcels set on gentle slopes, where vines averaging 55 years of age thrive in perfect balance with their surroundings. At the southern tip of the Côte de Beaune, Santenay is characterised by predominantly silty clay soils with a limestone base. In the winery, a portion of the fruit is left uncrushed, with around 30% vinified as whole bunches. Fermentation proceeds spontaneously with native yeasts. After around 20 days of vatting, the wine is blended and aged in a combination of casks and vats.
In the glass, the wine shows a slightly bright ruby hue. The expressive nose opens with ripe red fruit and black fruit aromas, lifted by notes of undergrowth and a floral hint of rose. On the palate, a firm, precise attack leads into juicy fruit, fine tannins and a long, persistent finish that points to fine ageing potential.
