Morgon Bellevue Sable Daniel Bouland (Domaine) 2018
The wine
An unmissable figure of the Beaujolais region, Daniel Bouland runs a 9-hectare domain in Corcelette, between Villié-Morgon and Chiroubles. He received official, organic certification in 2012.
This area of Bellevue is planted in sandy soil, as the name of this cuvée would suggest. These are the domain’s youngest vines, and they were planted by the current producer between 1985 and 1987. Once in the winery, the grapes are vinified in whole harvests with maceration lasting 10 to 12 days depending on the cuvée. The wine is matured in stainless steel vats and foudres for 6 to 9 months, and Daniel uses minimal sulphur. This cuvée isn’t filtered, allowing for better preservation of all its aromas.
In the glass, this is a flavourful Morgon with delicate tannins. We recommend serving this wine with veal or Livarot cheese.
About the Producer Daniel Bouland
The Domaine Daniel Bouland is located in Corcelette in Beaujolais, between Villié-Morgon and Chiroubles and consists of eight hecatres of beautiful terroir and old vines. Daniel Bouland comes from a family of winemakers and the family estate is shared with his brother Raymond who produces in Villié-Morgon. Daniel Bouland's wines are characterised by their body and their beautiful intensity of fruit while their minerality subtly reflects the terroir. Good wine at an interesting price!
