The wine
The Pinot Gris produced by Domaine Gérard Schueller is a white wine made near Eguisheim, on the Bildstoeckle vineyard, where vines thrive on rich, well-drained limestone soils. A natural winemaking process follows the manual harvest, with spontaneous fermentation triggered by native yeasts present in the grapes. This minimalistic approach preserves the authenticity and character of the terroir.
This nectar displays a golden colour and complex aromas of ripe fruit such as pear and apple, along with floral and honey notes and a subtle hint of smoke. On the palate, this rich, unctuous wine is balanced by good acidity, with a long, lingering finish marked by mineral nuances. This wine pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as foie gras, fish in sauce, poultry and a number of mature cheeses. It also goes perfectly with slightly spicy Asian cuisine.
