The wine

This 100% Nebbiolo wine is meticulously crafted by the Italian estate Cascina Fontana through sustainable winegrowing methods. The old vines are planted on the gentle hills of the Langhe, growing on soil consisting of the region’s characteristic grey and white marl. The ancient marine sediments, rich in minerals and trace elements infuse each vine with a unique and authentic aromatic profile. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand at peak ripeness. In the winery, the fruit is gently macerated with the skins, before being fermented with native yeasts. The cuvée is then matured in oak and cement casks, before being bottled without filtration, clarification or sulphites.
The intense red colour reveals a bouquet dominated by scents of dried flowers and red fruit jam, combined with notes of sweet spices and cocoa. The palate is fresh and elegant, revealing smooth tannins leading to a persistent, mineral finish.
