More info

The Hautes Côtes de Beaune appellation, located to the west of the renowned Côte de Beaune slopes, is characterised by its higher altitude, offering cooler climatic conditions that impart a lively acidity and marked freshness to the wines. The terroir primarily consists of limestone and marl soils, which contribute both minerality and complexity to the wine. Each Chardonnay parcel benefits from sustainable viticulture practices, respecting the environment while preserving the distinctive character of the terroir. The winemaking process takes place in stainless steel vats, with partial ageing in oak barrels to add subtle roundness without compromising the Chardonnay’s natural freshness.
The wine displays a beautiful pale yellow colour with golden reflections. The nose reveals aromas of white-fleshed fruits, citrus, and flowers, with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the attack is fresh, followed by mineral notes and a beautiful length with hints of hazelnut.

About the Producer Jérémy Carteret

Jérémy Carteret is one of Burgundy’s more discreet but extremely talented winemakers. He has worked alongside Benjamin Leroux, the emblematic winemaker of the Domaine Comte Armand in Pommard and owner of a wine merchant company that he set up in 2007, for several years. His life turned around when Benjamin Leroux asked him to look after an old Pinot Noir vineyard. He accepted immediately and put his heart and soul into his natural wine project in Monthélie. The relationship between these two friends is so strong that Benjamin also provides Jérémy with the cellar to bottle and store his cuvées. Jérémy unveiled his first cuvée, an exceptional 2020 vintage red Burgundy, aged in amphora for ten months. This is a reference that the greatest amateurs of natural wines are bound to snap up, as the young winemaker only produced 650 bottles.
