Lot presentation

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Omnia Rotem et Mounir Saouma 2010

The wine

From organic growing and low-intervention vinification, this Châteauneuf-du-Pape was matured for 18 months in different containers. Bottled without filtering or fining, this wine with a minimal dose of sulphur presents complex notes of violet, red and black fruits, spices and balsamic, as well as a concentrated palate. A pleasant minerality brings freshness and persistence.

Domaine Rotem & Mounier Saouma stems from the passion of the couple of winemakers whose name it bears. Mounir Saouma, born in Lebanon, is the proud owner of a micro-trading company. He quickly became a household name with his range of Burgundy wines from Lucien le Moine. The winegrower currently cultivates 37 hectares of vines in the heart of the iconic massif d’Uchaux, in the north of the Vaucluse. It is in this exceptional terroir that he passionately tends his vines, with the greatest respect for the soil and biodiversity. He is convinced that the balance between humans and the land is essential to develop quality grapes and thus to make great wines. In the winery, the philosophy is the same. Vinification involves very little intervention, and sulphur is added in minute quantities to allow the fruit to fully express all its aromas and flavours naturally. The domain produces authentic and unique vintages that perfectly reflect the flavoursome grape varieties of the region.
