What makes this wine special?
A fleshy and vibrant wine, bursting with character, produced from traditional Champagne grape varieties, and revealing fine aromas of red fruit and spices with minerality and elegance.
More infoThe rosé Champagne, long considered a niche product, has earned its stripes by expressing the delicacy of the blend and the richness of the Champagne terroir. The Aÿ terroir rests on chalky soils from the late Cretaceous period, mixed with ferruginous clays, ensuring aromatic finesse, tension, and depth. The Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes achieve an ideal balance between maturity and minerality. Vinified in oak barrels from the Argonne forest, the wine is blended with a touch of still Pinot Noir red wine for colour. It is aged for 12 months on lees without malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and tension.
The salmon pink colour is bright and dotted with elegant bubbles. The nose is complex with aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, and blood orange zest, beautifully complemented by subtle, oak notes. The palate is full-bodied, vinous, and perfectly balanced between chalky tension, red fruit, and delicate spicy notes.
About the Producer Henri Giraud
★ Partner ProducerThe young Henri Giraud champagne house is unusual in that it vinifies its wines in Argonne oak barrels, a Champagne forest. The vineyard, located in Aÿ, has well-located plots, in grand cru for the Pinots Noirs. The wines are vinous, slightly woody, quite original and very interesting.
