The wine
Meursault Premier Cru Poruzots is a prestigious Meursault terroir which takes its name from the word porroux, meaning "stony place". And the stoniness of this terroir is reflected in the wine, which delivers a superb minerality and excellent tautness, a dense, vibrant and fleshy substance, and aromas of exotic fruit. A great wine for keeping, and for fine food pairings.
François Mikulski created his domaine in Meursault with his wife Marie-Pierre in 1991. The vineyard consists of four plots of premier crus (Genevrières, Charmes, Poruzot and Goutte d''Or). Great attention is paid to the vineyards which are managed in an environmentally friendly way. Wines mature for 16 to 18 months in the barriques, of which rarely more than 20% are new. The whole range has great quality, offering depth, complexity and finesse.
