The wine
Meursault Les Tessons releases wonderful aromas of citrus and yellow-fleshed fruit as well as smoky, warm stone notes. On the palate this is an extremely generous and powerful wine; it has a lovely mineral structure combined with fine acidity, producing what is overall a beautifully balanced wine that is sumptuous and also has real character.
The Morey family has been working in the vineyard in Meursault since 1793. Domaine Pierre Morey was created in 1971, from the family domaine, and is still managed by Pierre Morey, a former manager of the Domaine Leflaive, assisted by his daughter Anne. The 11-hectare domaine is spread over the communes of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet and especially Meursault; it is worked using the biodynamic approach. Pierre Morey also created a small trading business in 1992, Morey-Blanc, where the cuvées are carefully selected. The quality of the terroirs and the talents of the wine grower produce outstanding white wines, widely recognised but also very fine red wines. The whites are one of the best of Burgundian hierarchy. Unfortunately, the quantities available are low, and the bottles very rare for connoisseurs around the world. So, when you find them on iDealwine, don’t delay!
