The wine

Composed mainly of Syrah grapes cultivated in a dense, schistose soil, Le Clos du Fou has been aged in foudre vats, barrique barrels and demi-muids for a year. Its intense ruby-red colour foreshadows a rich aromatic bouquet characterised by notes of black berries, violet and pepper. Its assertive tannins are coated in notes of mocha, chocolate, coffee and licorice. This is a wine that undeniably demands a pairing with dishes of character.

About the Producer Estanilles

Nestled in the heart of the Faugères appellation, this domain was created by the enthusiast Michel Louison at the end of the 1970s. Since 2010, vinification has been managed by a new team headed by the young and prodigious Julien Seydoux. They have adopted organic and biodynamic viticulture and their wines are coveted for their velvety texture and elegance.
