Napa Valley Cain Cain Five 2001
The wine
Cain Five is the domain's signature wine, produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot. It reveals a peerless personality with its floral notes and juicy, ripe, fruity character. It is complex and unusually long in the mouth, and will work wonders with a cut of very rare meat. Be sure to cellar it for a few years and decant it into a carafe two hours before serving.
About the Producer Cain Vineyard & Winery
Cain Vineyard & Winery located in the Spring Mountain region was founded in 1980 by Jerry and Joyce Cain. Their ambition was to develop mountain wines from blends of Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. It produces three cuvées, which are highly sought after for their long finish and aromatic complexity.
