What makes this wine special?
This Beaune Premier Cru is typical of its region and will have a magical effect on a nice piece of red meat thanks to its density, richness and firm yet refined tannins.
More infoLes Bressandes is a rich, powerful Beaune with cherry aromas and subtle woody notes. The palate is firm, dense and flavoursome, with a pleasant freshness and attractive finish, with aromas of red fruit liqueur. It will require a longer aging than the domaine's other cuvées (at least 6 years).
Domaine des Croix
★ Partner ProducerDavid Croix was the winemaker at the famous Camille Giroud house in Beaune for nearly 15 years. In 2011 the business was bought by the American Ann Colgin, a winegrower at the top of the Napa Valley, with a financial backer. While working for Camille Giroud, in 2005 David Croix created his own impressive personal domain, with private capital from rich American wine enthusiasts, who gave him "carte blanche" as the director of the fledgling Croix domain. The domain's parcels were concentrated around Beaune, with numerous premiers crus, but also the neighbouring appellations of Corton and Corton-Charlemagne. Although not certified, his wines are close today to the greatest organic names and his microcuvées sell like hot cakes around the world.
