Domaine Garnier & Fils signs a 100% Chardonnay true to the Chablis style: fresh, bright and best enjoyed within the year.
More infoXavier and Jérôme Garnier present a Petit Chablis crafted entirely from Chardonnay. The vines behind this wine extend across four hectares on the upper slopes of Lignorelles where the soil is characterised by firm brown limestone with the presence of sandy and clayey rocks. The parcel sits at around 250 metres in altitude. The vines, roughly fifteen years old, yield about 38 hl/ha and are planted at a density of nearly 7,300 vines per hectare.
In the winery, the brothers favour a traditional approach to vinification and ageing. Fermentation lasts four months with native yeasts, followed by ten months of maturation in a 90-hl stainless-steel vat with the aim of crafting a wine of great freshness.
On tasting, the wine delivers aromas of flowers and citrus. The palate is supple, full and mouthwatering. A truly delightful ‘À fleur de fruit’ expression.
