An exceptional wine created from 35-year-old vines. A testament to the devotion to terroir and precise skill.
More infoThe 35-year-old Chardonnay vines span across the incredible Côte de Beaune landscape and thrive in the region's clay-limestone soil. In the vineyard, the estate prides itself on cultivating each plot without insecticides. The grapes are hand-harvested to protect the vines and the soil. Once harvested, they are pressed using a pneumatic press for a slow and concentrated extraction of their aromas. The pressed grapes are left to settle gently to allow the grape must solids to sink to the bottom of the vat (débourbage). They are then placed in old oak casks to ferment using the native yeast. Finally, the cuvée matures on fine lees for around ten months. The wines from the different casks are blended in a stainless-steel tank. The wine is then slightly fined and filtered before being bottled.
The bright golden wine opens with a bouquet of aromas underlined by notes of fruit. The floral, full-bodied palate perfectly combines a crisp mouthfeel and a remarkable mineral quality.

About the Producer Vincent Girardin
Vincent Girardin comes from a family that has cultivated vines since the 17th century. But the real history of Domaine Vincent Girardin is recent, since it began in 1980 when Vincent Girardin took over two hectares of vines from his parents (the family have been wine growers since the 17th century) to produce his own wine. In a few years, Vincent Girardin had become a safe bet in Burgundy, developing a wine trading in 1992. Bought by the Compagnie des Vins d'Autrefois in 2012, the technical team however remained the same, led by Eric Germain.
Today, the estate produces wines from biodynamic vineyards or those that respect the environment (no herbicides or insecticides, natural compost and from local farms, manual harvesting), and in a very natural way. The wines and the climats (Bâtard-Montrachet, Chambertin...) are as prestigious as the next, covering Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits, Côte Chalonnaise and Mâconnais. The selection of winemakers remains demanding, as is the high quality of the wines. The red wines are supple, fruity and elegant, whilst the whites are fine, pure, bold and lively.
