The wine
The Gonet-Medeville family are descendants of two great winemaking families; one from the Champagne region, and the other from Sauternes (Château Gilette). Each of their wines is stamped with the best of both these traditions. A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this grand cru cuvée – grown in chalky soil and vinified in old barrique barrels – offers an intense, vinous bouquet of ripe fruit and chalk.
About the Producer Gonet-Medeville
This Champagne house was established in Bisseuil in 2000 by Xavier Gonet and his wife Julie Medeville. It comprises 12 hectares of vines dispersed across 8 villages. It has shot to fame and its star is still rising. Renowned for the quality of its blends and excellent vinification (without malolactic fermentation), it produces wines which subtly combine power with finesse. The secret of their success is undoubtedly barrel fermentation.
