Intensity
A Languedoc Chardonnay which will have an attractively smooth richness and aromatic complexity after several years' keeping.
More infoThis full-bodied, rich cuvée expresses complex, indulgent notes of vanilla and hazelnut, along with an attractive mineral character lending balance to the whole package. The domain has achieved this by conducting fermentation in new barrique barrels and one year's élevage on the lees in barriques. This wine is delicious in its youth, yet will equally benefit from a few years' laying down, and can be paired with gourmet dishes such as oily fish, shellfish and cheese.
About the Producer Domaine de la Baume
In the heart of the Languedoc, we find the domaine de La Baume which is located between Béziers and the medieval town of Pézenas. This property was taken over by Jean Prat in 1882. He created a hundred-hectare vineyard with his two sons. After changing hands several times, it was taken over by the owner of the group Grands Chais de France which breathed new life into it. Under this initiative, its parcel structure was reinstalled and modern vinification and élevage techniques were adopted.
