More info

This cuvée embodies what is typically referred to in Alsace as an ‘Edelzwicker,’ a blend of several of the region’s grape varieties. This patchwork of parcels benefits from south and south-east exposure, providing ideal conditions for optimum ripening. In the winery, the grapes undergo a natural vinification process. They are slowly pressed in whole bunches and the indigenous yeasts naturally present on the grapes trigger the crucial alcoholic and malolactic fermentations. The cuvée is then matured on its lees in large wooden oak barrels (in excess of 1,000 litres) for a year, before being bottled with a trace amount of sulphites.
The clear, shimmering colour and delicate effervescence reveal an expressive bouquet of intense fruity aromas. The dynamic and delicious mouthfeel affirms the luscious aromas of the nose while delicately leading to a fresh, persistent finish revealing a hint of acidity.

About the Producer Marc Kreydenweiss

Domain Marc Kreydenweiss is a family affair: it was originally created by Marc Kreydenweiss, who then passed the reins over to his son Antoine, seconded by his wife Charlotte and daughters Zoé, Lilou and Léonie. At the foothills of the Vosges, the estate has a wide variety of soils, spans 13.5 hectares and owns four Grands Crus. The vineyard has been farmed biodynamically since 1999 and natural vinifications allow the terroir to shine through in all its typicity and character. We particularly appreciate their refined, concentrated wines which are energized by a nice acidity.
