More infoLes Caillardières is produced from late-picked Chenin, when the grapes have a truly golden colour. On the nose, the wine conveys aromas of cooked apple, exotic fruits as well as raisin and grilled almonds. The terroir of schist and sandstone imparts the Chenin with a silky texture. The wine is then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels. Perfect with asparagus.

This top-class domain in Savennières has made remarkable year-on-year progress. The dynamic Evelyne de Pontbriand has put all her energy (and she has plenty) into enhancing the potential of Domaine du Closel's different terroirs. The wines are planted over 14 hectares and cultivated biodynamically. Extremely precise vinification and élevages show off the variations in soil and exposure in Savennières to perfection. An excellent Loire name.
