This cuvée offers a refined expression of Nebbiolo, with a perfectly integrated wood ageing process that reaffirms the precise, elegant style of the Elvio Cogno winery.
More infoThis Barolo is crafted from the youngest vines planted on the Elvio Cogno estate in the Bricco Ravera hills of Novello, in the heart of the Langhe region. The Guyot pruned Nebbiolo vines flourish at an altitude of around 380 metres. Harvested in October, the Nebbiolo grapes are vinified in steel vat. The fruit then undergoes a 30-day pre-fermentation maceration with an immersed cap, to allow the fruit to release its finest aromas. The cuvée is subsequently aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks.
The ruddy-red colour reveals an expressive and delicate nose combining red fruit notes such as cherry and Morello cherry, combined with subtle notes of pepper, liquorice and clove. The light and perfectly balanced palate reveals a superb mineral structure culminating in a fresh and persistent finish.
