Maipo Cousino Macul Lota 2008
The wine
This wine celebrates the 150 years of the Cousiño family. Produced only with grapes from the oldest vines, this wine offers up aromas of black fruits and floral notes, with a subtle oakiness. On the palate, the wine is harmonious, with the fruity aromas combining with elegant tannins and a long, lingering finish.
About the Producer Cousino Macul
The first vineyards were planted in 1546 across the Cousiño Macul, Chile's oldest and most renowned estate. It has been owned by the Cousiño family since 1856, with six generations having managed operations since. Located in the Maipo Valley at the gateway to Santiago, the estate grows and ages its wines in compliance with pure Chilean tradition: low yields and short maceration periods followed by a lengthy ageing process.
