Inspired by the Côtes du Rhône, this wine benefits from a double-sided terroir, produced from vines both in Eden Valley and Baroosa Valley. The ideal companion for beef dishes.

More info

The Struie is a blend of two Australian regions planted with Syrah: Eden Valley, with 40-year-old vines grown at high altitude, benefitting from a cool climate and 80-year-old vines in Barossa Valley, which produce more concentrated grapes and impart structure and power. The wine is matured in a mix of new and old oak. The cuvée is redolent with black fruits (blackberry, morello cherry) and spices (pepper, liquorice). The mouth is full-bodied, suave and has a nice silky texture. Cellar for at least 5 years.

About the Producer Torbreck

Founded in 1995 by Dave Powell, Torbreck in now one of the emblematic domains of Barossa Valley. The founder, a Rhone enthusiast, took inspiration from this region by planting a majority of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne, with a little Sémillon. In order to preserve the grapes, the harvest is brought to the vats by gravity, and the yields are limited, favouring quality. Appreciated for their richness and the excellent craftsmanship that goes into the wines, Torbreck is one of the leading producers of its region.
