Fleurie Grand'cour (Domaine de la) - Jean-Louis Dutraive L'exception 2003
The wine
Domaine Ponsot was created in 1872 by William Ponsot and is now managed by descendents Laurent, Rose-Marie, Catherine and Stéphane Ponsot. An eternal defender of barrel aging and harvesting at full maturity, the domain produces fleshy, impressively pure wines.
About the Producer Famille Dutraive
Domaine de le Grand’Cor is owned by the Dutraive family. Their Gamay is produced under the Fleurie and the Brouilly appellations. The domain covers 11.7 hectacres and has held organic certification since 2009. Jean-Louis Dutraive does everything he can to allow the terroir be reflected in his wines. He vinifies without the use of sulfites and at low temperatures. He also uses natural yeasts and carbonic maceration. His wines are natural and are neither filtered nor clarified. It is a domain that has now established itself amongst the best that Beaujolais has to offer.
