Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vignes Rondes Georges Mugneret (Domaine) 2003
The wine
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg was created in 1933 by Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Their son, Georges Mugneret succeeded them and expanded the domain. Today, Georges and Jacqueline’s daughters, Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée, are at the helm. Their vineyards are spread between the Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Ruchottes-Chambertin and Clos Vougeot appellations. Their wines are classic in style and their quality is consistent year on year. They produce two cuvées: Georges Mugneret and Mugneret-Gibourg. This Nuits-Saint-Georges delivers cherry aromas with great balance in the mouth, owing to plentiful, but fine and blended, tannins. Mocha notes present on the finish. A wine which pairs exquisitely with meat cooked in sauce.
