A Boulard Extra Calvados produced by the cellar master after seven years of work. For this blend, some of the oldest Calvados in the cellar were selected. Boulard Extra is one of the house’’s most outstanding Calvados.

About the Producer Boulard

Born into a family of sixth-generation winegrowers, Francis Boulard followed in the footsteps of his father Raymond Boulard, before being joined by his daughter Delphine, who runs the estate today. The three-hectare vineyard is located in Comicy, in the Saint-Thierry mountains, to the north-east of Reims. Vines are selected from the most robust vinestocks and cross through a silica and limestone terroir, where they have been grown organically since 2000. In recent years, biodynamic practices have also been introduced in a large part of the vineyard. A fan of plot-by-plot fermentation and interfering with the wine as little as possible, Delphine Boulard uses indigenous yeast to ferment grapes harvested when very ripe in barrels, demi-muid casks and used oak barrels, leaving them in contact with fine lees, where they are regularly stirred in the barrel. These are terroir-driven, powerful and delicious Champagnes available with or without dosage.
