Ducastaing 1973 Of. Cuvée Bernard VII X.O. 2L
The wine
A Bernard VII Ducastaing XO Armagnac aged for at least ten years and bottled in the 1950s. Bernard VII of Armagnac (1360 - 1418), a local nobleman, rose to fame during the Hundred Years’’ War when he became the nominal head of the Armagnacs faction that supported the House of Orléans against the House of Burgundy. He was killed in 1418 when England and Burgundy took Paris.
About the Producer Ducastaing
Ducastaing produces Armagnac from Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, Baco and Colombard grapes. The appellation’‘s three crus are represented in the house’‘s bottlings.
