About the Producer Pilla

The Pilla distillery, nestled in the heart of Jamaica, is renowned worldwide for crafting authentic, flavourful spirits through rigorous ancestral craftsmanship. This large island, located to the south of Cuba, became famous in the 17th century for its spirits distilled made in a traditional alembic still, which imparts rich, powerful and aromatic flavours to eaux-de-vie. To produce premium flavoured spirits, the company follows a strict manufacturing protocol, using sugar as the main ingredient. The producers conduct each production step with great enthusiasm. Distillations are performed with meticulous care following natural fermentation using wild yeasts, then the eaux-de-vie are aged in wooden casks for several years, depending on the desired style. This final step brings out the full flavour of the spirits, while imparting their characteristic warm amber colour.
