Leyrat Brut de Fût Hors d’’Age is a cognac with no age statement blended from Fins Bois spirits, all produced at the Maillard vineyard, which is owned by Francis Abécassis. Unusually for a cognac, it has been bottled at cask strength.

About the Producer Leyrat

Cognac Leyrat is a brand of cognac produced at the Chez Maillard estate, which boasts 90 hectares of vine in the Fins Bois appellation at the top of a sunny limestone hill. It is one of several estates owned by Francis Abécassis, a leading independent producer today managed by Abécassis and his daughter Elodie. Leyrat produces cognac from the Ugni Blanc grape distilled in two small 2,500 litre stills. In contrast to the blends produced by larger estates, it favours single estate cognacs designed to create a faithful expression of the terroir.
